You may have read this and thought: well possessive pronouns are not very tricky!!!
It is true, on first sight; they seem nice and easy enough. But they can be a little bit difficult as well, especially for a person that’s beginning to learn the language. To people whose mother tongue is Spanish, it is completely normal and logical to make the possessive pronoun agree with BOTH the person and the object.
As in:
‘Mí tía’ (My aunt)
‘Mis tías’ (My aunts)
As we may have seen in the translation from above, in English the pronoun doesn’t change according to the object, it only refers to the person that possesses something.
It does NOT agree with the object.
For example:
‘My brother’
‘My brothers’
